Editorial policy and corrections
People use these numbers to compare job offers, plan part-time work or budget around unemployment benefit. So we say where each figure comes from, who stands behind it and what happens when one is wrong.
Responsibility
Content and calculators are the responsibility of Radif Partners. Contact: contact@nettorechner.at.
Primary sources only
No value is taken from a blog, a forum or another calculator. We read:
- RIS, the federal legal database: Income Tax Act, Unemployment Insurance Act, Salaried Employees Act, BMSVG, Working Time Act as in force;
- the Finance Ministry: announcements on the tax scale, Familienbonus Plus, the Pendlerrechner;
- ÖGK: contribution rates, ceiling, marginal-employment limit, unemployment insurance scale;
- AMS, the Federal Chancellery and the Chamber of Labour: unemployment benefit and childcare allowance values.
Testing before every release
408 comparison cases from the BMF calculator, the Chamber of Labour benefit table and every limit value run as automatic tests. If a result differs, nothing is published.
Review cycle
A full review at least every 12 months and whenever a new regulation is published. The date on each page comes from the parameter file.
Handling errors
- Check against the primary source.
- Fix the data or the code and add a test.
- New date on the page; a significant correction is noted on the page concerned.
Independence
We take no money from employers, payroll bureaus, banks or insurers and recommend no providers. If that ever changes, the text will say so.
